Mobile Alloy Wheel Repairs:
Please ensure that your alloys are clean, if we need to spend time cleaning your alloys there will be an additional cost of 15% on the price quoted for the cleaning of your wheels as this adds time to the repair.
Please note we do not carry out repairs to buckled alloys, these are alloys that are bent or have a dent in them. If on arrival we discover that your alloys are dented or buckled and we are therefore unable to repair them you will be liable for our call our charge of £65 inc VAT. If your alloys are losing air you need to inform us of this before we arrive.
If we are repairing your alloys please ensure that you have the locking wheel nut to hand so that we are able to remove the bolts, if you are not able to provide this you will be liable for our call out charge.
We need space to park an extra long wheel based van and have access to a power point. We have a 50m extension lead. We need space to be able to jack you car up and put it on axle stands. If your car is on a terrace street with no off road parking please inform us of this.
Smart Auto Repairs provides a comprehensive, non-transferable, twelve month (12) month warranty (from the date the work was done) against faulty workmanship and/or materials for all painted wheels. In the case of polished wheels and wheels done under special offer, the warranty is one month from the date the work was done. The company only carries out cosmetic work and no warranty whatsoever is offered or implied that wheels will be structurally sound when returned to the customer. Work is only accepted on the basis that the company's liability in the event of a warranty claim is limited to making good the work carried out. Unless otherwise previously agreed in writing by the company, under no circumstances will wheels be replaced with new wheels. All warranty claims must be notified in writing to the company within 7 days of the fault developing and any warranty work carried out will only be done so following inspection of the wheel(s) by the company. Should a warranty claim be found to be invalid, the company reserves the right to charge the customer for all time required to carry out the inspection, including travel. All warranty work must be carried out at the premises at which the original job was done. In cases where the refurbishment is for a third party customer, warranty claims will be regarded as invalid if any advice notes given at the time the work was done were not passed to the third party customer.
Smart Auto Repairs aims to refurbish all wheels to the best of our ability but cannot be responsible for any unforeseen problems such as poor casting, hidden cracks, or excessive corrosion. These problems may only become apparent upon removal of the existing wheel coating. If the company does not believe a cosmetically acceptable or safe finish can be achieved, the customer will be contacted to discuss options before further work is undertaken. If upon arrival on the mobile service the alloy damage is greater than what has been promised to Smart Auto Repairs wherein the technician is unable to do the job, then a job failure charge of up to £100 + VAT will be incurred to the customer – hence the reasoning for pictures to be shown, correct age of the vehicle, precise finish of the wheel and damage incurred to the alloy to be cascaded to the Smart Auto Repairs representative taking the booking.
Wheel refurbishment is just that, it is not a new wheel – occasionally ‘used' alloys will never look 100% perfect after its refurbishment. We ask all customers to appreciate the work done and the high quality finish that the wheels are at a small fraction of the price that a new wheel would be.
If a mobile technician arrives on site with no alloy to refurbish, the customer will be charged a failure call out fee. All depending on how much work has been lost.
Customers agree to a ‘no warranty' and ‘as close to as possible' colour matching when rare alloys and colours are booked in.
We ask customers to understand that the amount of work booked in with the mobile technicians is normally what they can fit in. On odd occasions will the technician be able to fit more work in.
The price agreed on the booking reservation is the price to be paid - Only if the alloys are in worse condition than quoted for when viewed on arrival will the price change. This will most likely be a higher price.
Smart Auto Repairs reserves the right to refuse to complete the refurbishment process if they discover at any point during the process that the wheel will not in the opinion of the company employees to be safe / legal. Wheels which are classed as in 'very poor condition' may incur an additional charge. The customer will be contacted before any additional charge work is completed. Customers should be aware that certain high gloss finishes show blemishes more readily, such as Black Chrome or polished. We cannot guarantee to make your wheels perfect but will ensure they are significantly improved. Should a customer request as new finish or show wheels additional charges will apply and be calculated on a ‘labour' basis plus materials.
Smart Auto Repairs will do the utmost to meet any target completion time-scales given at the time a wheel refurbishment is booked. Target completion times, however, are just that 'targets'. Smart Auto Repairs accepts no responsibility for unforeseen delays within the process as some wheels may take longer than standard within any given process. Smart Auto Repairs accepts no responsibility for leaks around old valves.
Special pressure sensing valves are delicate and are often subject to being damaged during the tyre removal / bead braking process. We are unable to take responsibility of the valves and suggest customers have them removed before hand. Please refer to the vehicles handbook when the wheel/s are back on the vehicle to re-calibrate them to the cars' system
We do not accept any liability to the damage of sills or jacking points to your car, all vehicles are jacked up from the jacking points or at a strong lifting point either on the axle, chassis leg or wishbone we will only accept liability if it is noted before we carry out repairs that there is no evident damage to the sill or jacking points
Vehicles / wheels will not be released until payment is made in full. Vehicles / wheels not collected within agreed timescales will be subject to a storage fee.
Smart Auto Repairs is not responsible for resetting any vehicle computers used for monitoring tyre pressures. Owners should refer to their vehicle manual for this function.
Additional Terms & Conditions
All customers' vehicles must be fully covered by their own insurance whilst left with Smart Auto Repairs. All vehicles must be supplied with the locking wheel nut keys for removing and fitting wheels where applicable. Smart Auto Repairs accepts no responsibility for goods or articles left in the vehicle.
Where Smart Auto Repairs fits wheels to the customers' vehicle, staff will ensure that the wheel bolts will be properly torque using the appropriate tools. Customers are, however, responsible for rechecking wheel bolts after the initial bedding in period of 50 miles and at regular points thereafter as part of a standard maintenance routine.
Warranty – on all warranty work, the invoice / receipt must be produced by the customer for proof of purchase. No receipt, no come back.
PAINTED WHEELS - All of our painted wheels come with a 12 month warranty / guarantee against any paint defect, subject to the damage not having been of a result of driver damage, jet washing the alloys within the first month or the use of corrosive cleaners which will dull and damage lacquer over time. Alloys with corrosion; we can only guarantee the paint finish we can not give you any guarantees for corrosion coming back, as it is impossible to do this.
DIAMOND CUT WHEELS / POLISHED ALLOYS - given that lacquered bare machined alloy is not a strong or long lasting finish coupled with our climate, and state of road surfaces, it is difficult to offer any guarantee for this service. With this in mind, however, we have developed what we believe is a fair compromise for our customers who wish to retain this finish.
Defect occurring within 1 month , (subject to the damage not having occured as a result of driver damage or the use of corrosive cleaners which will dull and damage lacquer over time.)
a) Have the wheels polished again at 50% of the cost but with no renewed warranty i.e. if they fail again they are out of warranty. The wheels must be brought to the head office base unit, and left with us for 24hrs minimum. If the alloys are diamond cut there is absolutely no warranty ever in any time scale.
b) Have the wheels painted at 100% of the cost PLUS a fully renewed 12 month warranty as listed above
TWO PIECE WHEELS - are subject to the same general terms as listed above i.e. painted and polished areas. no warranty is offered against the wheel bolts coming loose.
Mobile Bumper/Scratch/Dent Repair:
If we are carrying out a bumper/scratch/dent repair, please make sure we have space to park our van close to your car.
Incase of rain we need to be able to erect a canopy that is 3m x 3m. If there is not sufficient space for this please ensure that you inform us before we arrive as you will be liable for our call out charge.
Main roads or small terraced streets are not suitable for mobile car body repairs.
9. Minimum Order Value
All orders are subject to a minimum total charge of £65 (sixty five pounds) inc VAT. If on any occasion the company does not impose any or all of these terms and conditions, this does not mean that the company has waived it's rights under the terms and conditions nor does it imply that the company will not impose the terms and conditions in any future transactions. Please note if we are unable to carry out the work due to lack of space for our vehicle or if the damage is more than described and we cannot carry out the repairs there is a call out charge.
Once you have been booked for these repairs we require a minimum of 72 hours prior to your appointment to cancel there after you will be liable for a £65 including VAT cancellation fee.
If we are unable to carry out the repairs due to weather conditions then there is no charge.
Your Drive
Our technicians are under strict instruction to remove any paper/sundries from your drive once they have finished their repairs; our paints that we use are water based so if there is an accidental spillage the paint can just be washed away with a little water. There should be no reason to spill paint though, paint is mixed in the van and transferred straight to the spray gun in the van. Please do check your drive as we will not accept responsibility for any mess/paint spillage once we have left your premises.
Payment Details
Payment is in cash on completion of work to the paint technician, we no longer accept personal cheques.

10. Force Majeur
The company accepts no liability whatsoever in respect of failing to carry out orders or deliveries due to circumstances beyond it's control. Such circumstances include, but are not limited to, Act of God, riot, strikes, war, bad weather, equipment failure, etc.
